Terrorism: Who are these terrorists?

So in recent times, Nigeria has been seriously tackling terrorism. There have been fewer cases of bomb blasts, many people are returning home and the markets feel safe again (thank God). It is an achievement on the part of this government and we must give credit when necessary. The major terrorist group in Nigeria has been the Boko Haram causing thousands of deaths in northern Nigeria albeit there have been an awakening of terrorism in the southern part of the country.

Terrorism: the use of violence or threatened use of violence or terror in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim.

My concern is there are terrorists that walk around freely in the country unattended to and we can no longer let that continue. The reasons would be that it threatens our survival, our fundamental human right to live and move freely and our existence entirely. They are hardly ever arrested, more or less never investigated, get away with their acts of terrorism and nobody seems to be paying attention to them. They are masked as Politicians, Military personals, Law enforcement agents, Lecturers, etc.

If you carry a gun and threaten people simply because you have been given the privilege to hold one, you are a terrorist

If you go to a peaceful protest and shoot unarmed civilians down, you are a terrorist

If you wear a uniform, Punish and flog citizens like you simply because they are ignorant of their rights or are scared to use it, you are a terrorist

If you threaten to fail your students because they refused to pay money to pass an exam or sleep with you, you are a terrorist

If you steal ballot papers or activate any form of violence during elections in the name of "campaigning", you are a terrorist

If you sit in power for 4 years (or 8) as a senator, Governor, Minister, or President and you do not fulfill the people’s mandate, you are a terrorist

If you squander the money allocated to your people as a Governor, Senator, Minister or President, because nobody can talk to you and you have immunity (that is literally an act of terror), You are a terrorist.

If you go about arresting people for no just cause because you own a uniform or a license to do so, you are a terrorist.

If you threaten your congregation in the name of God so that they give in church, you are a terrorist

If you instigate people to kill others in the name of fighting for God or religious war, you are a terrorist

If you carry Cows around, attack and kill people who refuse to let you graze on their lands, you are a terrorist.

Terrorism has many faces. 
It is high time we stopped sugar coating all these “state of affairs”. So that the next time you want to insult Boko Haram or the Niger delta Avengers for terrorism, be sure you are not one who just doesn’t operate the same way they do.

Nigerians, Say no to terrorism and to terrorists.

Report every act of Terrorism and every suspected terrorist for investigation.
